PURPOSE:To measure angles of inclination of two axes with small space by anchoring one end of a strain inducing plate to the top and reverse surfaces of a fixing member and also coupling the other end with an upper and a lower rotary frame, and fitting an inclinometer to the upper rotary frame and coupling a weight with the lower rotary frame. CONSTITUTION:Space coordinate axes X, Y, and Z are considered in the inclinometer and the X axis and Y axis are perpendicular to principal surfaces of strain inducing plates 4 and 3; when the inclinometer slants in the XZ plane at an angle alpha to the perpendicular axis Z, the fixing member 1 rotates around the rotary frame 8 in a direction X, so strain is induced in the strain inducing plate 4 while no strain is induced in the strain inducing plate 3 because the rotary frame 7 do not rotates in a direction Y. The strain of the strain inducing plate 4 is detected by a strain gauge 22 and the angle of X-directional inclination corresponding to the strain is detected. When the inclinometer slants to an angle beta to the perpendicular axis Z, the strain of the strain inducing plate 3 is detected by a strain gauge 21 and the angle of Y-directional inclination corresponding to it is detected. |
