The invention relates to a pivoting and tilting piece of furniture for relaxation purposes, more particularly to be used outdoors to facilitate relaxation and tanning. This piece of furniture consists of a platform made up of two struts 1 on which curved slats are mounted. This platform rests in its centre on a single foot (which characterises the invention) formed by two cross-pieces 4 and a sole 5 in the shape of a large-radius ball and socket joint in contact with the ground. Motion of the body on the platform makes it possible, by shifting the centre of gravity, to tilt the platform. Rotation is obtained by simply pushing of the hand on the ground. The manufacture of the piece of furniture can be carried out using wood exclusively, or, by contrast, using mixed materials, wood and moulded plastic for instance, this being valid for any of the component parts. <IMAGE>
