For drive-wheel winding with single-rope or multi-rope winding, in particular for blind shafts, at least one rope pulley and/or drive wheel is provided above the floor stop at the side of the hoisting means guided on guide rails, a hoisting means being fastened to the rope ends on one side and a counterweight being fastened to the rope ends on the other side. For space-saving reasons, and for better partitioning of the shaft and roadway cross-section, the rope attachment (14) of the winding-rope end or ends of one or more winding ropes (9) is provided on the wide side (10) of the hoisting means (5), which wide side (10) faces the rope pulleys and/or drive wheels (6, 7), and the balance rope (12) arranged between hoisting means (5) and counterweight (11) is guided loop-like in a rope pulley (6, 7) below the lowermost floor stop (4). <IMAGE>
