Spring tension element

A spring tension element between the head belt (12) and the face bracket (16) of a dental adjustment has a first fastening element (10) for attachment on the head belt (12) and a second fastening element (30) on which the face bracket (16) can be suspended. A spring element (14) which is fitted on a first end of the second fastening element (30) and counter-acts displacement of the latter is housed in the body (20) of the spring tension element. If a certain tensile force is adjusted by suspension of the face bracket (16) in one of the recesses (32) in the second fastening element (30) when the dental adjustment is applied, this force can be directly read off at the markings (26) along a slot (22) produced in the body (20) along the movement path of the second fastening element (30), as a result of which optimum adjustment of the dental adjustment can be monitored at all times. <IMAGE>
