Hearing aids have previously been operated with button-cell NC batteries. To make the user independent of the batteries, my hearing aids are supplied with power from solar cells. These have the property of converting sunlight, daylight or artificial light into electrical current. The user can thus hear at any time and without restrictions, without having to worry that his hearing aid will stop because of a power failure. Batteries, in contrast, only have an operating life of a few hours when they must be exchanged against new ones. Batteries can additionally be used in alternation, an interruptor switching off the plug connection to the solar-cell part. The solar-cell holder can have different shape, as a square, flat rectangle, circle, semicircular column or hemisphere. It can also be designed as an ornament in the form of a blossom, cascade, clip or hair ornament, for the purposes of camouflage. The stranded electrical connecting wire can also be formed in the form of a chain. The battery located in the device is automatically switched off by the plug connection of the solar part. At home, the solar part can be placed under a desk lamp and will even work with a candle. The advantage is obvious. The listener is independent of batteries in developing countries, on journeys at sea, on land and in the air. My prototype generates current at up to 3.4 volts so that even smaller models ...
