PURPOSE:To reduce the time and equipment, and to treat practically the organic waste liquid by acid-fermenting the organic waste liquid in a bioreactor, and recovering organic acids with membrane separation. CONSTITUTION:The high-concn. organic waste liquid such as the waste liquid from food is supplied into an immobilized bioreactor 2 from a supply passage 1, and the organic acids such as acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid are formed in the bioreactor 2 from the organic materials in the waste liquid with the acid fermentation by bacteria immobilized on a carrier. The liquid is then sent through a pipeline 3 equipped with a pump into a membrane separator 4 wherein the organic acids are recovered, and the recovered organic acids are sent to a recovery passage 5. The membrane separation is sufficiently carried out, and the organic acids are recovered.
