The invention relates to a lead coiling device having a mains connecting lead which can be unwound and has a mains connecting plug with a handle part, and having a housing in which a winding core that holds the lead is arranged, the housing having an annular gap, which surrounds the axis of the winding core, for winding the lead in and out. In this case, when it is not being used, the mains connecting plug is intended to be capable of being fixed in a manner which is convenient and simple for the operator. This object is achieved in that the annular gap (26; 326) has at least one region (edge section 40) which is wide enough to hold the handle part (34) of the mains plug (32). In this case, the mains plug (32) can preferably be firmly clamped in a gap region which tapers continuously away from the region which holds the plug loosely. <IMAGE>
