PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy in finishing the cutter shape by constituting a plurality of the cutters on the final cutter side of a finishing cutter group from spline cutters only and allowing the thickness of the cutter to gradually increase. CONSTITUTION:On the outer peripheral surface of a finishing cutter shell 11 in cylindrical from which constitutes a final finishing cutter group F', a plurality of splines 5 are formed in a prescribed pitch, and each cutting edge is formed so that the thickness of the cutting edge is gradually increases towards the final cutter side. The shape of the cutter free from error can be cut by the presence of the final finishing cutter group F', and a worked surface having high quality free from plucking can be obtained. Therefore, the grinding performance at the right and left cutting-edge corner parts of each cutting edge is balanced, and uniform abrasion develops gradually, and the service life of a tool can be prolonged. |
