PURPOSE:To completely recover ink (prevent ink from splashing) and to improve cap and pump efficiency by reliably removing air bubbles at ink charging (recharging) time. CONSTITUTION:A suction pump is mounted obliquely, and a unidirectional valve 147 is disposed above a pressure chamber. Thus, the air in the pressure chamber of initial suction is rapidly removed. Since an air intake valve 122 for intaking air is employed in the cap of a head 141, the remaining ink in the cap 141 is reliably taken-in after sucking operation, and the ink is prevented from splashing or leaking from the nozzle surface upon opening of the cap. Not only the contamination of the nozzle face but the small rise of viscosity at the end of the nozzle can be prevented by mounting a housing 113 which receives ink jet from a nozzle cleaner 111 and a nozzle 142, and the ink jet can be accordingly always stably performed. |
