PURPOSE:To form an ink jet recorder which has moistening means which does not affect adverse influence to exhausting characteristic by specifying the specific resistance of moistening liquid for moistening the ink exhaust port of an ink jet recording head which utilizes electrostatic power. CONSTITUTION:In an ink jet recorder for exhausting ink by electrostatic power, the specific resistance of moistening liquid is set to 10<6> to 10<9> or lower. At this time, there is almost no difference in the exhausting characteristics of the ink before and after moistening. In other words, an ink jet recorder which can prevent clogging while always maintaining uniform exhausting characteristic by moistening the ink exhaust port by moistening liquid of specific resistance of 10<6> to 10<9>OMEGAcm or lower can be obtained. |
