<p>An agent for the production of protective coatings on articles made from iron or iron alloys, in the form of an aqueous solution or dispersion containing from 5 to 50 per cent by weight of an aluminium hydrogen phosphate and from 5 to 25 per cent by weight of an organic polymer which forms a film at elevated temperature. It is also possible for zinc oxide, zinc salts or zinc complexes to be added. In order to form protective coatings, the agent is applied to the metal surface and heated at temperatures above 250 DEG C.</p> |
