PURPOSE:To perform mirror surface forming process without impairting the tip shape of a magnetic head by using a mirror surface processing guide having the same shape as said head tip shape when the head rubbing surface is processed into a mirror surface. CONSTITUTION:A thin film magnetic head is made of the martensite stainless steel such as SUS440C, etc. which can be hardened. A thin film magnetic head chip 2 is attached by means of a head support 3 to a mirror processing guide 1 having the same tip shape as said magnetic head so that the rubbing surface of the chip 2 is protruded. In this case, the chip 2 is adhered to the support with an adhesive, etc. In addition, a tool 4 is used in combination with the guide 1 to secure a fixed protruding degree (d) when the chip 2 is attached to the guide 1. The protruding degree is set so that the rubbing surface of the chip 2 has a touch to the tool 4. Thus the degree (d) can be set constant for the chip 2. |
