PURPOSE:To improve the using efficiency of a memory for a channel controller which controls the pripheral devices by storing the control information to an idle area of the memory. CONSTITUTION:A channel control system comprises a data processor 1, a channel controller 2 and peripheral devices 3-1-3-n. The controller 2 detects through a channel control part 21 that the device 3-1, for example, is started and stores the control information A adaptive to a peripheral device number ''0'' to an idle area of a memory 22. The part 21 stores in a chart the information A of the memory 22 and the device number ''0'' to a reference table 23. The above-mentioned procedure is carried out repetitively for each peripheral device to be started. When a storing action is through with the table 23, an answer given from the processor 1 retrieves the table 23 from the device number of a needed peripheral device number. Then the information A is extracted from the memory 22 based on the corresponding address, and the corresponding peripheral device is controlled by the part 21. |
