PURPOSE:To provide the titled promoter exhibiting remarkable effect to promote the activity of a biocide when used in combination with the biocide without causing phytotoxicity, and composed of a product obtained by adding propylene oxide to a mixture of a fatty acid triglyceride and a polyhydric alcohol. CONSTITUTION:A fatty acid triglyceride (e.g. natural oils and fats) is mixed with a polyhydric alcohol (preferably pentaerythritol, sorbitol, especially glycerol) at a molar ratio of 1:(0.1-5), preferably 1:(0.2-2), and 1mol of the mixture is added with 1-100mol of propylene oxide or propylene oxide and ethylene oxide. The obtained product is used at a weight ratio of 0.1-5, preferably 0.5-3 based on the stock biocide. The product has very strong solubilizing activity to the biocide, and accordingly, it is supposed that the product pulverizes the biocide, accelerates the permeation of the biocide from the surface of the plant or into the body of insect or microbial cell, and promotes the activity of the biocide. |
