PURPOSE:To provide the titled emulsion obtained by using a phospholipid free of phosphatidyl ethanolamine as an emulsifier, containing prostaglandin in stabilized state, exhibiting strong pharmacological activity of the active component, having focus selectivity, and administrable by intravenous injection. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed amount of an oil component (e.g. soybean oil) is mixed with a phospholipid free of phosphatidyl ethanolamine, prostaglandin (PG) and if necessary, an emulsifying assistant, a stabilizer, etc., the mixture is heated, and the resultant solution is homogenized with a homogenizer. Water containing required amount of isotonic agent, stabilizer, etc. is added to the product, and the mixture is again homogenized to obtain the objective PG fat emulsion. The required concentration of PG in the emulsion is as low as 0.2-100mug/ ml. The phospholipid can be produced by fractionating the phospholipid of egg yolk, soybean, etc. with organic solvent by conventional method, and purifying with an inorganic adsorbent such as silica gel, alumina, etc.
