NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [R<1> is protected carboxy; R<2> is (protected) carboxy; R<3> is alkyl substituted by (protected hydroxy; A is alkylene] and a salt thereof. EXAMPLE:(+ or -)-(3R,4R)-4-[(3R and 3S)]-3(tert-Butyldimethylsilyloxy)-(E)-1-octenyl]- 3-[6-carboxy-(Z)-2-hexenyl]-1-methoxycarbonylpiperidene. USE:An antiothostatic hypotensive agent and antimigrainous agent. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formlula II or a salt thereof is subjected to the olefinization reaction to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I . The compound expressed by formula II is also a novel substance.
