A flexible container 100 in which a liquid eg blood may be stored or through which it may be passed, whilst being heated or cooled, is made of two thin sheets of polymeric material which define a central chamber, and has tapered sleeves defined by welds 131, 133, 132 and 134 at each side of the chamber. The sleeves are intended to receive the legs of a U-shaped frame which holds the container flat whilst it is inserted in a heating or cooling apparatus. The chamber is subdivided into channels and has an inlet and outlet. The apparatus employs thermally conductive elements which are spaced to receive the container, and a thermoelectric device contacting at least one of these elements, for heating or cooling. <IMAGE> |
