<p>PURPOSE:To omit the exclusive dots for cursor display and a drive circuit for dots by using the lower two or one row of a character display dot matrix also for cursor display dots. CONSTITUTION:A pointer 43 within a memory 40 serves as a display buffer output pointer which designates the reading position of a display buffer 42, while a pointer 45 serves as a cursor pointer which shows the cursor position on the screen of a display device 60. In other words, in case of storing a character pattern in a pattern buffer 44, a lower one or two rows are all set at 1 or 0 for the character pattern of the digits indicated by the pointer 45 as the cursor display dots. In a normal display mode, for example, the 16th row of the character pattern is set at ''all-1''. While the 15th and 16th of the character pattern are set at ''all-0'' in a reverse display mode. Thus a cursor display is performed. This can omit the dots exclusively used for cursor display and a drive circuit for these dots and attains a miniature cursor display system with the reduction of cost.</p> |
