<p>PURPOSE:To decrease the key operating times for KANA (Japanese syllabary)/ KANJI (Chinese character) conversion by selecting a desired one of candidate KANJI with operation of a key showing a numeric character in case plural homonymns are retrieved in a KANA/KANJI conversion mode. CONSTITUTION:A keyboard 10, a display 11, a printer 8, a ROM52 and a RAM 53 are connected to a CPU50. The ROM52 includes a character generator 54 which stores a dot pattern of KANJI, etc. and a conversion table 55 which stores various KANJI codes corresponding to each reading KANA. While the RAM53 includes a line buffer 56 which stores temporarily the character data equivalent to a line and supplied from the keyboard 10 via a key input buffer, a an input mode register 57 which stores the input mode flags corresponding to each type of input mode, a save register 58 which can shunt the contents of the register 57, a shift register 59 which stores the shift flags, and a shift flag save register 60 which can shunt temporarily the contents of the register 59.</p> |
