PURPOSE:To obtain a welded Cu or Cu alloy pipe having superior fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance by work-hardening of Cu or Cu alloy bar, forming it into an arbitrary shape, and carrying out continuous welding by induction welding or resistance welding. CONSTITUTION:A part or the whole of the surface of a Cu or Cu alloy bar is work-hardened by shot peening or other method. The work-hardened Cu or Cu alloy bar is formed into an arbitrary cross-sectional shape, and parts of the bar to the joined together are continuously welded by induction welding or resistance welding. The effect of heat is eliminated with a squeeze roll so that parts melted and solidified by the welding and a work-hardened part softened by the weld heat are made continuous in the weld zone. |
