PURPOSE:To increase the information recording density by limiting the magnetic sensing area of a recording medium down to a minute area by a light spot. CONSTITUTION:When a recording request is given, a supporting member 2 moves toward (x) while carrying a magnetic head 1, an objective lens 6, a half mirror 7 and a space filter 8. The head 1 is slid on a magnetic substance 4 of a recording medium 3 while receiving the load from a spring 23. Both member 2 and medium 3 are stopped when a magnetic pole 13 reaches a prescribed recording position of the substance 4. At the same time, a focusing servo action is carried out by a means (not shown in the figure) to keep a constant distance between the lens 6 and the substance 4. Then a recording beam 9 is irradiated on the medium 3 for recording of information by a coaction of the heating of the recording light spot and a magnetic field of the head 1. In other words, the temperature rises at a thermal response area 19 and the coercive force is reduced. While the magnetic field of the head 1 acts on a magnetic response area 18 of the substance 4. Then the recording is carried out only when both area 18 and recordable area 20 are obtained at a time. |
