摘要 PURPOSE:To separate a packing from cooling water to prevent the packing from swelling by disposing a subplate on the upper surface of the packing and setting the inner diameter of the collar hole of the packing smaller than the inner diameter of the collar hole of the subplate by a predetermined amount in a prior state of tube expansion. CONSTITUTION:In the titled solderless type heat exchanger, a header plate 5, a packing 8, and a subplate 6 have collar holes 5a, 8a and 6a, respectively. The positions of respective collar holes 5a, 8a and 6a are aligned, and the end portion 1a of the tube 1 is inserted therethrough, and the tube 1 is expanded, whereby the tube 1, the header plate 5, the packing 8, and the subplate 6 are mutually secured to each other. In the prior state of the tube expansion, the inner diameter of the collar hole 8a is set smaller than that of the collar hole 6a. As a result, at the time of the tube opening expansion, the subplate 6 functions as a guide, and a packing 8b around the tube 1 is compressed uniformly. Hence, a stable bonding strength is obtained. In addition, since the packing is separated from cooling water by the subplate 6, the packing swells and there is no possibility of causing the leakage of cooling water and corrosion of the tube 1.
