PURPOSE:To attain the input of Chinese numeric characters just with approximately single-touch operation by providing a 2nd shift key on a keyboard, making numerical keys correspond to Chinese numeric characters and pushing the numerical keys together with the 2nd shift key. CONSTITUTION:While a 2nd shift key is pushed, a Chinese numeric character table 43 in a memory 40 is retrieved based on the data on the numeric characters and symbols fed with key operations to obtain the corresponding Chinese numeric character code. This code is written on a text buffer 41. A CPU20 separates successively the data of the buffer 41 for each display screen of a display device 60 and sends them to a display buffer 42. At the same time, these data are read out for every character and converted into a corresponding character pattern through a pattern memory 50 to be displayed to the device 60. The programs needed for processing of the CPU20 are stored in a ROM30, and an input processing program is also included.
