PURPOSE:To simplify the pickup method of characteristic points and to grasp the characteristics of a graph, by picking up and storing a series of point coordinate information of for graphic profile with a picture processor and calculating an arbitrary characteristic point based on the information. CONSTITUTION:By using reading line sensors 1, 2, a binary circuit 2, a picture processor 3, X and Y axis counters 5, 6, and a plurality of storage sections, a series of point coordinate information of the profile of a graph to be read is picked up and stored. As to an arbitrary point D of this series of profile points, points A and B with a prescribed interval are decided before and after the profile of the graph. A coordinate of a point D' forming a parallelogram with the points D, A and B is calculated with the point coordinate information of the points D, A and B, the ratio of D-D' to a distance A-B is obtained and the point D is stored as a characteristic point when the D-D'/A-B is a preset value or more. The pickup of the characteristic point is made simple and the grasp of the characteristics of the graph can be made easy. |
