PURPOSE:To provide a molding material for sealing, which allows reduction of the quantity of a mold release agent and can prevent blistering or cracking, containing a sealing resin, a mold release agent and a specified hydrocarbon or a compd. contg. a hydrocarbon chain. CONSTITUTION:A sealing resin, a mold release agent and 0.1-2wt% (based on the total quantity of the molding material) hydrocarbon having a b.p. of 60- 140 deg.C or compd. contg. a hydrocarbon chain are mixed together. Examples of the sealing resins are epoxy, silicone and urethane resins. The hydrocarbon or the compd. contg. a hydrocarbon chain exhibits a function similar to that of the mold release agent in the course of seal molding so that the quantity of the mold release agent can be reduced by blending the hydrocarbon or the compd. Examples of the hydrocarbons and the compds. contg. a hydrocarbon chain are aliph. hydrocarbons, arom. hydrocarbons, alicyclic compds. and their derivatives.
