PURPOSE:To turn a pinch roller arm, etc. with a small amount of power without changing an oscillation system, by providing an elastic member between a guide arm and a plate cam which kicks the guide arm fixed to the pinch roller arm. CONSTITUTION:In a tape travel mode, an arm 17 moves up to a position 17' and a magnetic tape 1 has a route 1'. Thus the tape 1 is held between a capstan 9 and a pinch roller 13' and shifted at a constant speed. An oscillation system is formed with the elasticity of the tape 1' between the capstan 9 and a take-up reel 5, the elasticity of a guide 21' and a guide arm 23' and the equivalent elasticity secured by a spring 23' which energizes a position guide 21' which is hooked between a plate am 29' and a guide arm 23' and matches with the tape tension, and the inertia of the reel 5. The spring constant of the spring 33' is selected so that no resonance is produced to the oscillation system owing to the disturbance caused by a take-up reel driving system, etc. Both a guide arm 23 and a plate cam 29 are turned approximately in the same direction. Thus, the variation of length is considerably reduced for a spring 33.
