PURPOSE:To improve watertightness of a seal part by applying a water repellant surface treatment on the surface of planted hair of the captioned weather strip which is formed by planting hair on the surface of the seal part in elastic contact to the outer edge of the car body opening part of a fixed panel or the outer edge of a sliding panel. CONSTITUTION:A hollow seal part 6, the surface of which is provided with planted hair 8, is formed on a fitting base part 5 provided on the outer edge of a sunroof 1 serving as a sliding panel. In this case, a repellant surface treatment is applied on the surface of the planted hair 8 to prevent infiltration of rainwater and the like from the exterior O of a compartment into the interior R of the compartment through a space between a roof panel 9 serving as a fixed panel and the sunroof 1. This treatment is performed through burning treatment of, for example, water repellant material (silicon or the like) 13 convering the whole surface of the planted hair 8. By a weather strip 2A formed in the abovementioned manner, the rainwater of the like going to infiltrate into the interior R of the compartment from the exterior O of the compartment can be repelled by means of the water repellant material 13. |
