PURPOSE:To increase the ground clearance of a vehicle for giving an aid for passenger's action of getting on the vehicle easily and reduce said clearance to the usual level during running of the vehicle, by providing a getting-on/off action detecting means which detects a passenger's getting on and off action with respect to the vehicle and adjusting the ground clearance according to the output of said detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a passenger opens a vehicle's door, a door opening and closing sensor 47 sends an UP signal to a comparator 54 via a charge-over switch 50 so as to compare said signal with the proper ground clearance signal of a ground clearance sensor 31. Then, the comparator 54 generates an output to open an air supply valve 10, whereby supplying an air suspension with air to increase the ground clearance up to the proper position. When the door is closed after the passenger gets on the vehicle, said sensor 47 sends a DOWN signal via a change-over switch 51 and through a delay circuit 58 to a comparator 59 so that an air discharge valve 11 is opened in the similar manner. The air in the air suspention is then discharged to reduce the ground clearance to the usual ground clearance level. |
