ADJUSTABLE STORE FIXTURE SYSTEM A prefabricated, readily adjustable and easily assemblable product display fixture is provided having components which can be installed and interchanged without the use of special tools and substantially without nut-and bolt type fasteners by those possessing less than a high degree of mechanical skill and dexterity. As a result of the abundant flexibility provided through the readily interchangeable components employing a substantially common type interlocking system, the fixture may be adapted for display of such diverse product items as greeting cards in a stairstepped array on a special inclined deck structure, or candles, wrapping paper and party accessories on inclined display shelves, racks or baskets. The fixture may be prepared for aisle, end-of-aisle or wall display settings. The fixture includes a base which, except for dimensional considerations and differences, is universally usable in all variations of the fixture, a pair of extensible upright standards interlockingly secured to the base at the rear of the latter and, in one form, a special, lightweight, easy-to-handle-and-install, simplified card display deck suspended from the standards by unique sling brackets which support the deck in overhanging relationship to the base therebelow and which permit the deck to angle upwardly and rearwardly from the point of suspension in a rearwardly leaning mode to bear against upper portions of the standards. Ready height positioning of the standards is available through the medium of quickrelease latch means associated with the telescopic sections of each standard. Each of such latch means is in the nature of one-way pawl means precluding retraction of the standard when locked at a selected height, yet readily releasing the telescoping sections of the standard upon attempted extension thereof by the user. A structural, transversely extending tie member may span the standards above the base in a manner to rigidify the standards, and such tie member may be readily installed without spreading the standards apart and without moving the fixture out of an aisle-defining line of the side-by-side fixtures by virtue of specially configured aperture means at opposite ends of the member permitting front loading thereof.
