PURPOSE:To improve an autotheft preventive effect ever so better, by installing a rotatable shaft used for shifting a rod to lock a steering shaft between locking and releasing positions, while making rotation in the shaft regulatable with a solenoid being energized by the specified time long. CONSTITUTION:The titled device excites a solenoid 16 in accordance with the output of a comparator circuit 32 when a code number tobe inputted out of an input circuit 30 inclusive of plural switches accords with the number stored in a memory circuit 31 of a control circuit 48, and makes a plunger 16b retract from its engagement to a circular groove 11f of a shaft 11. Under this condition, the shaft 11 is rotated by a knob, and an ignition switch 14 is turned round to the specified position inclusive of a start position in consequence. In this case, the control circuit 48 is provided with a switch FF34 to be set by a coincidence signal out of a comparator circuit 32 and a timer 36 to reset the FF34 when the specified time elapses, after the FF34 has generated its output, and it constitutes the solenoid 16 to be operated with the output of the FF34. |
