PURPOSE:To easily remove a jammed sheet by automatically retreating a sheet cassette to a non-load position in response to a jam detection signal when a sheet is jammed and restoring the same, or by providing a manually-operated switch for commanding retreat and restoration. CONSTITUTION:An automatic cassette supply apparatus 4 placed by the side of a main machine 1 includes cassette storing portions 111-115 disposed in a cassette storing box 10, wherein when a sheet is jammed, a versible motor M2 is reversely driven through a signal give and receive cable to automatically move backward a cassette loaded at a cassette insertion port 2 of the main machine 1 into the cassette storing box 10. Accordingly, the jammed sheet can be removed easily and quickly to shorten the pause period of the main machine 1 from the occurrence of a jam until the main machine 1 is again operated. |
