PURPOSE:To enhance the holding ability of posture of fruits on processing, by clamping and conveying fruits between a feed conveyor and a chain driven pressing surface in parallel with the former while fruit capsules and stalks are pulled down to cut off the capsules and stalks. CONSTITUTION:A fruit 1 covered with a capsule is set on a receiving pan 22 with its stalk being inserted into a hole formed in the pan 22, and is moved while its posture is corrected by a posture correcting means 11. In the rotary feed section (a) of a chain 3, a retainer member 5 in a retainer device 6 acts upon the fruit 1 so that the top surface of the fruit 1 is pressed against the pan 22 by means of the pressing surface 4 of the retainer member 5. Then, a clamping member 65 in a capsule pull-down device 13 clamps the capsule and the stalk and pulls down these. Then, a cutting device 14 cuts off the capsule and the stalk. Further, the retainer member 5 is separated away upward from the chain 3, and a capsule removing device 15 jets compressed air from a nozzle 75 to remove the capsule. With this arrangement, the posture of the fruit on processing may be properly maintained. |
