<p>PURPOSE:To adjust the amount of sheets stored without the need of replacing paper feed cassettes by changing the level of a support position for a sheet storing receptacle where copy sheets of different kinds are stored separately. CONSTITUTION:Paper storing receptacles 15a-15d corresponding to the number of required paper sizes are placed on supports 36a-36e at intervals corresponding to the number of sheets stored according to the amount of consumption. In such a condition, a paper size is designated by a console 41, and a control portion 40 starts an expansion and contraction control for a cylinder 23 so that a guide member 25 is moved along a slide rail 22. If paper in the paper storing receptacle 15c is selected, for example, light emitted from a light emitting portion 38 is received by a photo detecting portion 37c, and simultaneously the control portion 40 stops the expansion and contraction of the cylinder 23.</p> |
