PURPOSE:To easily mold a packing inserting groove by a method wherein an elastic packing is swollen into a cavity in a ringed groove prepared in the cavity and the elastic packing is returned to the original state when it is removed from the molds. CONSTITUTION:An elastic packing 15 is inserted and retained in the ringed groove 14 in a cavity 13, molds are clamped to shrink the width of the ringed groove 14, and to swell the external circumference of the elastic packing 15 into the cavity 13. In this state, molten resin is injected into the cavity, the width of the groove 14, after resin is hardened, is enlarged to return the elastic packing to the original state and the packing is removed from the molds to form the packing inserting groove.
