PURPOSE:To improve capacity and prevent short by winding a positive electrode and a negative electrode with a synthetic resin separator having space holding function interposed between them to form a plate group. CONSTITUTION:Paste type plates are used as positive and negative electrodes. A grid-shaped polypropylene separator 2 having a 7mm. square window 1 is cut to the same dimension as the plate to use as a separator. The propylene grid- shaped separators are placed on both sides of the positive plate, and the negative plate is placed thereon to constitute a wound type plate group. This group is inserted into a cylindrical container having a diameter of 30mm., and gelled electrolyte prepared by mixing fine silica powder to 20cc of sulfuric acid having a specific gravity of 1.30 is used. Capacity of sealed type lead-acid battery having wound plate group is increased, and short is prevented. |
