PURPOSE:To make sealing pressure uniform to improve leakage resistance of a battery by specifying flatness of the upper horizontal part of a metal spacer. CONSTITUTION:The flatness of the upper horizontal part of a metal spacer 4 serving as a seat of a gasket on which a sealing cover 8 of a battery is supported is specified within 0.02mm.. The reason why the flatness is specified within 0.02mm. is that electrolyte leakage of the battery can be prevented by this flatness. The metal spacer 4 having good flatness can be obtained in such a way that elongation difference of a metal plate between a rolling direction and a right angle direction to the rolling direction and a process of punching and drawing are appropriately selected, and a mold is accurately formed and setting of a mold is kept good. Thereby, sealing pressure is uniformly applied to increase leakage resistance of a battery. |
