PURPOSE:To prevent any dimensional changes which might be caused by vibration so as to equalize the temperature of the wall of the emission tube by attaching auxiliary plates consisting of heat-resistant metallic plates to a heat-retaining member and attaching the other ends of the auxiliary plates to a plate supporting the emission tube to support the heat-retaining member. CONSTITUTION:After one end of a quartz glass tube is heated and softened, the quartz glass tube is formed into an enclosure for an emission tube 1 so that a given space is provided between the quartz glass tube and the emission tube 1 thereby making a heat-retaining member 6. Then a tungsten bar used as a heat- resistant metallic bar 9 is buried in the end portion of the heat-retaining member 6 by about 3mm.. After auxiliary plates 10 each formed by folding a stainless steel plate into a U-shape are attached to metallic portions 9 protruding from the end of the heat-retaining member 6, the other ends of the plates 10 are fused to a plate 7 supporting the emission tube 1 by means of a welder and then the plate 7 is attached to a supporting frame 8 thereby fixing the emission tube 1 and the heat-retaining member 6. By the means mentioned above, any dimensional changes which might be caused by vibration or shock is prevented, thereby equalizing the temperature of the wall of the emission tube 1. |
