PURPOSE:To obtain a casting having high accuracy with a simple stage by forming a cylinder by die casting using a liner molded with molding sand in the inside and port parts then heating the molding sand held in the liner thereby collapsing and removing the sand. CONSTITUTION:Molding sand 2 are molded and held by a cold box method to the inside and port parts of a liner 1 and after the liner 1 in such a state is stowed and fixed into casting dies 3 having a split structure, the melt of a light alloy is poured therein to cast integrally a cylinder 4 in the stage of inserting a cast iron liner by casting into a light alloy cylinder. The cylinder 4 taken out of the dies is then heated for about 3hr at about 400 deg.C to collapse the molding 2 and thereafter the cylinder is shot blasted, by which the molding sand 2 is easily removed. The casting finished satisfactorily to have high accuracy is obtd. by the simple stage using an inexpensive blank material. |
