PURPOSE:To obtain a photo-electro-magnetic disc with high reproducing S/N by laminating a thin metallic film, a dielectric layer having a specific thickness to a wavelength of the operating laser light, a recording layer of vertical magnetoanisotropy, and a dielectric layer on a base in order so as to improve the polarized light rotating capability with the multiplex interference effect of light. CONSTITUTION:A thin metallic film made of a thin metallic film such as Al is formed as a reflection layer on a disc substrate 1 onto which a pit having header information including track guide slot number, slot number and sector number is provided by a rugged replica layer 2. A dielectric layer 3 such as SiO2 is formed on the layer 6 in the thickness of nearly 1/4 of the wavelength of the operating laser light. Then a magnetic substance layer 4 is formed on the dielectric layer 3 and a dielectric layer 5 is formed on the layer 4. The layers 3, 5 protect the magnetic layer 4 and the Al reflecting film 6, the reflecting film 6 transmits light being <=50% of the incident light from the substrate 1, the reflectance is used as <=50%, the light passing through the protection layer 3 is reflected on the layer 4, the reflection on the layer 6 again is repeated so as to improve the polarized light rotating capability. Thus, the S/N reproduction is improved. |
