PURPOSE:To eliminate the change of a roll gap at the time of skew rolling and to make simultaneous rolling possible by specifying the transmission mechanism of an axis of rolling-reduction motor and slanting an upper work roll around its center in the skew rolling-reduction mechanism of a titled device. CONSTITUTION:The output axis 8b of a rolling reduction motor 8a is connected to the 1st rolling reduction axis 10a through a reducer 9a, to enable the axis 10a to transmit its output to the 2nd rolling-reduction axis 10b on the axial line the same as the axis 10a through a clutch 13. The axis 8b is also enabled to transmit its output to the axis 10b so as to rotate the axis 10b reversely to the axis 10a and at the same speed as that of the axis 10a through a clutch 15, and the axes 10a, 10b are connected to rolling-reduction mechanisms at both sides of a mill respectively. In case of performing a skew rolling reduction; the clutches 13, 15 are put in and out of connections respectively to rotate the axes 10a, 10b mutually reversely and at the same speeds by the motor 8a, when the driving side is disconnected and the operating side is connected. In this way, an upper roll 2a is slanted around its center without changing a roll gap (a). On the other hand, the clutches 13, 15 are put in and out of connections to rotate the axes 10a, 10b in one body when the simultaneous rolling is performed. |
