PURPOSE:To enable early rising of a system by detecting humidity automatically when turning on the power source and lowering the humidity forcibly by fixing a magnetic head and magnetic disk when the humidity is out of operating range. CONSTITUTION:When the power source of the system is turned on, if the humidity of a computer room is high and detected by a humidity sensor 13 of a magnetic disk controlling device 3, a humidity sensor detecting circuit 11 operates and an alarm state is stored in a status controlling circuit 8. At the same time, a lock controlling circuit 10 is operated to fix the magnetic head 18 and magnetic disk 19 of a head disk assembly 9. Then, a heater driving circuit 12 operates, and hot air is sent from a heater 14, and the humidity of the assembly is lowered forcibly. When the humidity of the assembly becomes within workable range, the sensor 13 returns to the original state, and the ready state is stored in the circuit 8. At the same time, the circuit 12 stops its operation, and fixing of the assembly 9 is released. Thus, rising of the system can be made in an early stage. |
