PURPOSE:To eliminate generation of oligomer by providing an aperture part in the rotating direction of a can from the position facing a start point. CONSTITUTION:The position of a target (evaporating source) 5 is moved near the contact point of a film 1 in the inlet direction of a can 3 and a slit (aperture part) 6 is provided in the rotating direction of the can 3 from the position facing the start point. Then a thin metallic film is (for example, thin CoCr alloy film) is fomed as quickly as possible on a high polymer film 1 when said film contacts the can 3. The time when the film 1 is heated by the can 3 is thus shortened and the thin metallic film is formed before the oligomer oozes onto the surface of the film 1. Even if the film is heated for long time after the film formation, the oligomer is pressed to the thin metallic film and is thus prevented from oozing. The medium having a good surface characteristic is obtd.
