PURPOSE:To generate a plurality of sparks in a short period to improve igniting property by a method wherein respective coil sections, divided into two divisions at the neutral tap of primary coil of an ignition coil, are connected with switching elements respectively to conduct respective elements alternately with a predetermined period. CONSTITUTION:A D.C high voltage, generated by a D.C electric source 1 through a DC-DC converter 3, is smoothened by and stored in a capacitor 4 to permit to supply a large transitional electric current. The anode of a thyristor 13 is connected to the positive pole terminal of the capacitor 4 and the cathode thereof is connected to one end of the primary coil 161 divided at the neutral tap of the ignition coil 16. The anode of the thyristor 20 is connected to one end of another primary coil 162 and the cathode thereof is connected to one end of a capacitor 15 for resonance. The gates of respective thyristors 13, 20 are impressed by trigger signals from a trigger signal generating circuit 7 through pulse transformers 14, 21 for insulation. |
