摘要 PURPOSE:To stabilize the modulating frequency of light by supplying microwaves to a hollow resonator to which double refractive crystal is fitted to modulate light, detecting phase difference between the incident waves of the microwave and its reflected waves and varying oscillation frequency and pulse width. CONSTITUTION:A frequency variable microwave oscillator 15 is set up by a controller 16 so that the hollow resonator 7 is set up to about the resonance frequency of the double refractive crystal 6 at the room temperature and the output power is set up finally to the average power of pulses inputted to the resonator 7. A pin diode switch 2 turns on and off microwaves from the oscillator 15 on the basis of a pulse signal from a pulse width variable pulse oscillator 17. The switch 2 is turned on at first, a part of the output of an amplifier 3 is inputted to one input of a phase difference detector 8 by a directional coupler 4 and a reflected wave from the resonator 7 is sent to the other input of the detector 8 by a circulator 5. The frequency and pulse width of the oscillators 15, 17 are controlled by the phase information of the detector 8, the modulation degree is increased and the modulation frequency can be set up stably.
