PURPOSE:To measure light propagation characteristic of the air with a pulse light and facilitate operating and adjusting a device by arranging a light source, an optical focusing system, and an array of a photodetector in one end of a transmission line and arranging a reflective body in the other end. CONSTITUTION:A light source 1 which outputs the pulse light, a focusing optical system 2, and a one-dimensional array photodetector 7 arranged in a stripe shape are arranged in one end of the transmission line, and a retroreflective body 8 such as a corner reflector or the like which reflects the light from the light source 1 is arranged in the other end. The focal length of the focusing optical system 2 is so selected that all of the image of the reflective body 8 which is spread by influences of the air is made incident onto the surface of the detector 7. Thus, image data of individual detecting elements of the detector 7 indicate one-dimensional intensity distribution in the arrangement direction of detecting elements of the optical image from the reflective body 8 including influences of the air, and light propagation characteristics of the air is measured by the pulse light to improve the operability. |
