PURPOSE:To obtain high-quality coal with using low-quality coal, by crushing separately coal rich in active components and coal not rich in them into specific particles diameters, respectively, adding further a water-soluble organic binder to the coal of poor quality, granulating it into granulated coal, blending both the coals. CONSTITUTION:Coal rich in active componenets (coal containing <20vol% content of fusinite, etc. and mineral substances) is classified by a sieve, a blended raw material having the maximum particle diameter of 4-10mm. is prepared, part of coarse particles on the sieve is crushed, classified, processed into the blended raw material having the above-mentioned particle diameter, both the raw materials are incorporated. Meanwhile, coal not rich in the active components is classfied by a sieve to give the above-mentioned particle diameter, a blended raw material is obtained, part of coarse diameter on the sieve is crushed to give a blended raw material having the maximum particle diameter of 1-3mm.. Both the raw materials not rich in the active components are mixed with a water-soluble organic binder, kneaded, granulated to give granulated coal, this coal is mixed with the blended coal rich in the active components, and is fed to a coke oven.
