PURPOSE:To measure positions of individual piled-up objects easily with a high precision by providing plural kinds of reference pattern having shapes approximately equal to those of objects and performing pattern matching between these patterns and objects. CONSTITUTION:A measuring device is constituted of an image pick-up means 3 consisting of an ITV camera 8 controlled by a TV controller 9, an A/D converter 10, and a picture memory 11, a reference pattern memory 4 where 5 reference patterns P2a, P2b, P2c, P2d, and P2e equal to one another in size but different from one another in fall angle are stored, a comparing and discriminating circuit 12, and a counting circuit 13. If a reference pattern P2 outputted from the pattern memory 4 and a picked-up pattern P1 outputted from a picture memory 11 overlap incompletely, the reference pattern P2 is shifted in directions of arrows X and Y so that an area S where both patterns P1 and P2 overlap is maximum, and the position of an object (omitted in the figure) is displayed accurately in accordance with coordinates of four corners of the reference pattern P2 after shifting. |
