PURPOSE:To simplify a structure and secure correct operation at all times by a method wherein a rotating body, rotating in synchronized with the engine, is formed with a plurality of holes on the outer peripheral rim thereof with predetermined angular intervals and the device is constituted so that the passings of these holes are detected by a light sensor to distribute electricity. CONSTITUTION:In case the device is applied to four-cylinder engine, a rotary disc 10, rotating with a speed which is 1/2 of the speed of crank shaft of the engine, is equipped while the rotary disc 10 is formed with two holes or notches 10A, 10B with angular intervals of 180 deg. with respect to the rotating center O thereof. The light sensors 12, 14, having the angular intervals of 90 deg. with respect to the center O of the rotary disc 10 and consisting of luminous elements 12A, 14A and light receiving elements 12B, 14B, are attached to a fixed member. The signals of respective light sensors 12, 14 are shaped in the waveform thereof by trigger circuits 16, 18, an electric current from a battery B is given to the primary sides 20P, 22P of the ignition coils 20, 22 instantaneously and, thereby generating sparks in ignition plugs No.1-No.4 by the high voltage induced in the secondary sides of the coils. |
