PURPOSE:To obtain a photovoltaic device, a generating element thereof is divided into a small number and power loss thereof is small, by effectively reducing the electric resistance of a first electrode in succession along the direction of currents flowing through the first electrode for the generating element consisting of a photoelectric conversion element formed on the first electrode and a second electrode shaped on the photoelectric conversion element. CONSTITUTION:Photoelectric conversion elements 14 having three layer structure of P type semiconductor films, I-type semiconductor films and N type semiconductor films are formed on each transparent electrode 13. The photoelectric conversion element 14 is formed at a central section with the exception only of the predetermined width of the outer circumferential section of the transparent electrode 13a shaped on the innermost side on the transparent electrode 13a. The photoelectric conversion elements 14 are each formed with the exception only of prescribed width extending over the whole length of the outer circumferential section on transparent electrodes 13b, 13c on the side outer than the transparent electrode 13a. Since the whole outer circumferential sections of the transparent electrodes 13 function as the current extracting sides of generating elements in all of each generating element, total current flowing sectional areas naturally increase in succession along the direction of currents flowing through the transparent electrodes 13, thus effectively reducing electric resistance along the direction of currents. |
