PURPOSE:To reduce the sound of vibration and improve a resistance to abrasion by a method wherein a synthetic resin compound, containing the specified wt% of carbon fibers, is used, the section of the piston is formed into substantially rectangle and both ends of a pair of opposing surfaces are extended to form extended parts. CONSTITUTION:The section of the piston carburettor is formed into the hollow rectangle 1, the bottom 4 of the piston is provided with a small hole and both ends of a pair of opposing surfaces 2, 3 are provided with the extended parts 2a, 3a to form the piston into a tubular body. The synthetic resin compound, containing 15-60wt%, or preferably 30-50wt% of carbon fibers in the base material thereof, is used as the material of the piston. According to this method, the sound of vibration may be reduced very much compared with a conventional cylindrical piston or a metallic rectangular tube piston. The resistance to abrasion upon sliding may be improved and the strength as well as the resistances to gasoline and gas hole are prominent. Further, the weight of the piston may be reduced because it is made of plastics, the productivity in mass-production is prominent and the cost for manufacturing may be reduced. |
